2017 - An Overdue Retrospective, Part 2: Favorite iOS Apps

|

Welcome to Part 2 of my (much overdue) multi-part retrospective of 2017. On to iOS apps that helped make life a bit better in 2017.

Honestly, I didn't discover many new iOS apps in 2017 that had a lasting impact. As with Part 1, I'm avoiding triple A apps that get mentioned in every best-of list.

5 iOS Apps I Enjoyed in 2017

Financial.

  • Stash: This app helped me dive into ETFs and investing. I like how it explains and breaks down each fund.
  • Acorns: Micro-invest by rounded up your purchases. It's amazing how it added up this year.

Development

  • I had some fun with Sketch Mirror. Sketch is a great vector drawing app for Mac, and it's super easy to show your mockup right on your phone.
  • Micro.blog is a new social network that is based on decentralized micro blogs that you own. The iOS app is really clean, and I'm enjoying the intelligent conversations over there. Check me out!

Music

  • Radiooooo: Weird name, weird app. Listen to music from around from the 1900s to the present. It's a trip you don't want to miss!
