Macbook Pro Fans in El Capitan

|

If you're using OS X El Capitan, you'll want to keep an eye on your fans. On numerous occasions since upgrading to El Capitan, the fans have stopped going and my 2012 Macbook Pro (non-retina) has nearly overheated. One of my friends with a brand new retina Macbook Pro has had a similar experience. The fan issues also occur on Bootcamp running Windows 10, so I'm thinking it's firmware related. I recommend downloading something like the freeware Macs Fan Control, which also has a Windows version you can run with Bootcamp, to make sure everything is OK. If you want something that's a bit more native and detailed (but shareware), TG Pro seems to be a good option.
