100 Days of Code Day 28-30 - Studying, More Studying, and Scriptarian

Cleaning My Brain

It’s the end of the fiscal year, and the powers that be want to use the rest of their budgets. As a result, I’m having to keep working on interview questions. It feels like Spring cleaning in a way: I’ve been so laser-focused on the minutiae of Moodsmitten that I need to brush up on the classical CS topics and language and framework features I haven’t touched in a bit. I’ve been using Wayne Bishop’s Algorithms and Data Structures with Swift as an outline in order to dive deeper into each topic. I’m also paging through Apple’s Swift iBook when necessary.

Scriptarian

Besides studying, I have been writing some code in the form of little Swift automation scripts using Scriptarian. It’s not a super complete app, crashes constantly, and has no documentation, but I’ve always found AppleScript and JXA to be very counterintuitive. Scriptarian makes much more sense, but has required a lot of trial-and-error.
